Andrew Ball brings more than 30 years of international leadership experience across automotive engineering, product development, operational transformation and emerging mobility technologies. His career has taken him across Europe, Asia and the Americas, leading complex engineering programmes, developing global organisations and delivering results in demanding business environments.
From global vehicle launches at Ford Motor Company to pioneering electric vehicle and software-defined vehicle programmes in China, Andrew has built a reputation for combining technical expertise with commercial judgement and hands-on leadership. He has managed major R&D operations, scaled international engineering teams and helped organisations improve performance through operational transformation.
Throughout his career, Andrew has championed a leadership philosophy built on empowering people, challenging conventional thinking and maintaining accountability. He believes successful transformation requires more than processes and strategies; it demands experienced leaders who understand the realities of execution and are prepared to get involved.
Following a distinguished career at Ford Motor Company, including executive leadership at JMC in China, Andrew became CTO and Head of Programmes at Byton, overseeing global R&D operations and supporting the development of a new EV manufacturing facility. He subsequently held senior leadership responsibilities at Tata Technologies, managing international engineering operations and accelerating EV and software-defined vehicle development. Through ABALL Consulting, he continues to advise organisations on engineering excellence, operational performance and sustainable growth.
